SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team opened their 2024 season on Monday and Tuesday at the Savannah Invitational, placing 18th.
Camryn Blackwell led the Panthers in round one with a career-best day. She shot a 77 (+5) in the opening round for the lowest score of any Panther this season, placing her tied for 19th.
Gentry Scott also had an excellent day finishing only two strokes behind her teammate with a 79 (+7) for her second-best round of the season.
Markie Nelson and
Izzy LoBue rounded out the scores in round one for BSC with a 92 and 93 respectively.
Two Panthers shot in the 80s in the second and final round for BSC.
Gentry Scott finished with an 84 (+12) to give her the highest placement on 'Southern's squad overall.
Haylee Johnson had an eight-stroke improvement on day two with an 87 (+15) to give her a third-place finish on the team.
Camryn Blackwell came in at second on the team with a +23 overall score while
Izzy LoBue finished in the fourth spot for BSC.
