TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team had their highest placement of the season at the Buccaneer Invite on Monday and Tuesday with a fifth place overall finish.
In the opening round, two Panthers found themselves inside the top 10 individually, and every player ranked inside the top 25.
Gentry Scott led the way with an 82 (+10) to place seventh while
Camryn Blackwell was only a few strokes behind in tenth with an 86 (+14).
Haylee Johnson was not far behind her teammates with an 88 (+16) for 14th while
Izzy LoBue rounded out the top 25 with a 95 (+23).
Gentry Scott stayed inside the top 10 in the second and final round with an impressive eighth-place tournament. Her score of 85 (+13) tied her for the best on the team in round two with
Haylee Johnson. Johnson's three-stroke improvement from round one put her at 15th overall in the tournament.
Camryn Blackwell was consistent with her second 86 (+14) day which placed her 12th. Johnson wasn't the only improvement in the final round as
Izzy LoBue's three stroke improvement gave her a score of 92 (+20) for 26th place overall.
