GULF BREEZE, Fla. – The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team was defeated by Transylvania on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Pioneers to 21-8 in a neutral site contest.

The loss drops the Panthers to 2-5 on the season.

Four different BSC players shared the offensive load for the game. Freshman Ryanne Ritters (Pelham, Ala./Oak Mountain HS), senior Ashley Shepherd (Dandridge, Tenn./Jefferson County HS), sophomore Jade Cox (Rome, Ga./Darlington School) and junior Katie Gleeson (Franklin, Tenn./Franklin HS) scored two goals each to get the Panthers to eight goals.

Junior goalie Gracie Murray (Jacksonville, Fla./Episcopal School of Jacksonville) finished the match with five saves.

Birmingham-Southern will return to the Hilltop for its next match against Piedmont College on Tuesday, March 20. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. at Krulak Stadium.
